WELCOME TO GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH

Loved by God.
We tell, we share!
All are welcome here!

Welcome Statement
Welcome to our church community,
where all are embraced with open arms and boundless love.
We openly celebrate the diversity of humanity in all its beautiful forms,
including our LGBTQIA+ siblings,
and we affirm the inherent worth and dignity of all human beings.
In this sacred space, we stand firmly against all forms of discrimination and injustice, including racism and prejudice, in any guise.
In living out our baptismal calling to strive for justice and peace,
we strongly support racial equity in our church, community, and the world.
Here, we strive to create a sanctuary of acceptance, understanding, and solidarity where everyone is honored and respected as a beloved child of the divine.
Together, as we journey toward God’s vision in faith, compassion, and unity,
we seek to embody the principles of love, equity, and justice
in our shared pursuit of a better world.

ABOUT US

Rooted deeply in God’s love and guided by the Holy Spirit, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church is a vibrant ELCA congregation committed to God’s mission and engaged in our community. Our congregation is warm and welcoming, and includes people of all ages and stages in life. We offer a variety of worship styles, lively faith formation ministry for families with young children, as well as meaningful ministry opportunities for all. We are centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, rooted in our sense of belonging in the body of Christ through baptism, and deeply engaged in ministries beyond our church doors.

Good Shepherd began as a mission start congregation in 1978.  We are part of the Tomorrow River Conference of the East Central Synod of Wisconsin. Good Shepherd is a member church in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).  We are located in Plover, Portage County, Wisconsin, a beautiful area that is also the ancestral homeland of indigenous peoples, including the First Nations of Menominee, Ho-Chunk, and Ojibwe.

Making a Difference

Good Shepherd is committed to living deeply into God’s mission in the world. We respond to God’s deep love through our many ministries that support life-long faith formation, growing in discipleship, building relationships with God and within the Body of Christ, and caring for our neighbors locally and across the globe. As you respond to God’s generosity, your gifts--including your presence, talents, and financial support--allow our ministries to continue to support one another and our community. Thank you!
